DMM Revolver Wiregate is a carabiner designed to reduce the friction of the rope passing through it.
For example, if it is placed where the climb changes direction it reduces the friction of the rope and makes it easier to slide upwards. The Revolver can also be used in a pulley set up to help the second climber overcome a difficult passage, to hoist sacks on a big wall or for rescue manoeuvres of a climbing partner from a crevasse.

While normal carabiners in these systems lose energy in the form of friction, the Revolver’s small pulley facilitates pulling by converting more energy into movement.
