SCARPA Maestrale RS is a ski mountaineering boot intended for the most experienced skiers. This is the revamped version for the 2024-2025 season.
Perfect for ski mountaineering and freeriding, this boot is compatible with all skis between 85 mm and 115 mm wide. It is also compatible with all bindings.
Thanks to the Axial Alpine Hybrid construction, the Mistral adapts perfectly to the foot, enveloping it completely. On the descent it is extremely precise while on the ascent it is very agile. In addition, it is quick and easy to adjust and open.
As for the materials used, externally we find a Grilamid Bio with Carbon Core technology. The latter is an over-injected carbon insert that guarantees high torsional and longitudinal rigidity of the shell, which enables more direct transmission of impulses to the ski and thus greater precision. In addition, for better performance and sensitivity, the shape (102) has been renewed, making it more precise in the heel and medial area and wider in the metatarsal area.
The inner shoe, made of Intuition Foam, is constructed to provide unprecedented comfort. Its tongue construction guarantees speed while the elastic bands on the instep keep the shape. There are also webbing at the top to facilitate entry, while in the heel area there is extra padding to secure the ankle both on the ascent and descent. Remember that this liner is thermoformable and it is recommended to thermoform it before use to increase its performance.
There is also a RECCO localisation system, which does not replace the function of the ARTVA but is an additional system applied in the Velcro strap of the right boot that allows you to be tracked in the event of an avalanche accident. It is not, however, a substitute for safety devices but an additional aid that increases the possibility of being found in time.
As for the fasteners, this boot has three different hooks. The lower one has a special system called Wave Closure M-Lite, an inverted lever with a steel cable that tensions four points on the hull. There is a second central hook with a rack and a third at the top with a classic lever. A fourth hook is considered the Velcro strap hook.
